WnAspi32.dll for WaveLab is a module needed for CD burning and grabbing, called an "aspi driver". Normally, you use the default version 1.0 supplied with WaveLab. But you might want to use an alternate version, in this case, there are several options: 1) Place the aspi driver in the WaveLab folder and rename it as "AspiDrv2.dll" or 2) Edit the text file "Aspi.ini" in the WaveLab folder: 2.1) write in it the name of the aspi module you want to use, eg. name=FrogAspi.dll, and put the file (FrogAspi.dll) in the WaveLab folder. or 2.2) write in Aspi.ini the full path of the module, eg. name=C:\Windows\System32\FrogAspi.dll or 3) Place the aspi module in the WaveLab folder, and rename it as WnAspi32.dll. For CD Burning, the aspi driver is active only if the file ASAPI (installed by previous WaveLab versions) is not installed. To uninstall this driver, go in the Control Panel and execute the Add/Remove software application. If you don't find ASAPI in the installed list of software, then there is nothing to do. Note: if ASAPI is not installed, there should be no file "ASAPI.DLL" in C:\Windows\System32\ folder. Another way to disable the ASAPI driver, without uninstalling it, is to set this registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VoB\CD Wizard\5.0\ Variable: "ASPIType" (type DWORD) Set value to 0 (if the value is 1 instead, the ASAPI driver is used rather than WnAspi32.dll) *************************** In Aspi.ini, there is the possibility to set the option: driveLetter=1 If this option is active, WaveLab will add the drive letter to the CD device name, and this will also allow automatic CD ejection. However, this option might conflict with the CD-RW erasing function. This is why this option is currently OFF by default. *************************** Your Steinberg team
